I dieeee

Ohhhh god. I just got weak. Look at them. Just look. Oh god. Birthday present from the collective Glitter Me This community? You shouldn't have.

Backstory to the hyperventilating: Rachel Zoe sends out a daily email blast, The Zoe Report- it.is.amazing. Each day she features an item (usually something gorgeous and expensive), describes it beautifully, then at the bottom of the email she gives a "parallel universe" where she shows something similar but affordable. One look at those leopard print beauties she featured today and I totally said out loud: "Rachel Zoe, no you di'int." I highly recommend subscribing.

That's right make it work, eat your salad, no dessert.

Lately the light blogging has been due to a crazy, heavy work schedule. I absolutely HATE not blogging. When I finally do get to post an entry it's like a bulimic who finally purges after a huge binge. Ahhh it feels so great and I feel so light! (No? Insensitive?) While my blog has been suffering, I have been getting to do some pretaaay cool things for my job. Ch-ch-ch-check it out:

That's so New York shoot with host Kela Walker (She has google alerts! Hi Kela!) We had a marathon day of shooting last Friday on Coney Island. Here we're touring Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs- home of the annual hot dog eating contest!

Hosty host.

We went to Barnum's Circus. Here I am looking oh so beautiful and not creepy at all.

Alright, so I'm working on an amazing project going behind the scenes of the clothing archives at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) to air during Fashion Week. (The picture above is the Director of FIT). I'll post links in a few months and won't really talk about the project until then but in the meantime- look at the beautiful things I've had the opportunity to play with. And when I say play with I mean I can't actually touch anything and the people that are allowed to touch have to where special gloves. Try telling me that I can't touch something- god I was going ballistic.

1954 Dior

I was creeping in the racks- look at this vintage Westwood sparkle.

Shoes set up for the shoot.

Rodarte for Louboutin. Literally...no words.

Prada.
A paper dress from the sixties, these were popular for about 2 years and were meant to wear for only 1 day. This was considered an expensive one at about $3.50.

My favorite thing I saw throughout the day: Alexander McQueen boots donated by his best friend Daphine Guinness.

I can't say it enough but I love this little blog.

Obsessing

I should probably start out by saying I really love New York. Generally, it's a borderline obsession. I've learned to embrace it all- the good, the bad and the ugly. I love the homeless man who sits on my corner and the steaming sewer grates, the endless piles of trash bags lining the streets and sometimes even the dirty subway station. Safe to say, I think I can handle most of the negatives of New York...

HOWEVER

My beloved New York does not have a Target. Ok fine, there is one uptown (Bronx maybe?) and one in Brooklyn but they suck. They suck so bad. They are basically small-ish stores with the Target name on the front and Target priced items but with none of the clothes or cute things you go to Target for. Take those things away and you're basically just left with overpriced dish soap- and if that's the case- I'd rather go to K-Mart.

I'm getting to a point with all of this, I promise. So there is this pair of shoes that I am so obsessed with it's becoming a problem. They are the Cynthia Vincent collection for Target and they are only sold in stores. These beautiful caramel colored wedges (FOR $29.99) have basically become the holy grail for shoe lovers. They are sold out throughout the country- according to the Target website- there is not one pair available in the entire state of California. I want them and I want them bad. Last night I met a girl who was wearing them and made her let me take a picture of her feet: I'm crazy.

So...to my Glitter Me This readers throughout the country, many of whom live oh so close to fantastic-large-sparkly Targets, I have an offer for you. Give me your zip code and I'll see if the shoes are sold in your area- you pick them up for me, I'll pay for the shoes, shipping AND I'll pay you $50 for your efforts. Doesn't that sound great? It's really a win-win!

In the meantime, I'll just be sitting here in my beautiful Target-less city waiting for your call.

Drop it like it's hot

I actually just fell off my desk chair. I'm beyond obsessed, in LOVE, dying over these shoes.

$2000 tax return= sooo dangerous.

Wedge me up

I am absolutely craving a good closed toe, black, short boot-ish type wedge that I can wear out instead of heels. Nothing under 5 inches will do. Unfortunately, I am under a major spending freeze due to my pending permanent job placement. So, I am left shoeless and must instead spend my time searching the internet and living vicariously through the beautiful people in the pictures. I sit in my bed, in my pajamas (it's noon) and cry a little.

Dying. to. start. work. I. must. have. wedges. (sniff sniff)

Spring version of what I want. Yum.

Shoes and breakfast bruschetta. Why not?
