The holiday season has faded to a distant (blissful) memory and now I'm experiencing a new, much different kind of a love. I call it, public isolation. The bitter cold of the past few weeks has forced me to bundle up- hat, coat, gloves, scarf and one very large pair of headphones. Every walk outside and I go into my own little cocoon. I blast my music as loud as it will go, tuck my hands in my pockets and speed walk through crowds of people. I skate through the streets to my own soundtrack feeling drunk with love for the city of New York.

In love
The beauty of winter in New York keeps revealing itself to me. First, it was the holiday season. I was utterly mesmerized by the glittery transformation on every street. The lights hanging high above the streets of Little Italy, the Lower East Side and 5th Avenue- Christmas trees being sold on every block and all of those perfectly decorated store windows. The chill in the air mixed with smells of evergreen and cooking street nuts (Nuts for nuts!) was something I hadn't been prepared for. I think I fell in love.
